About Zeke

Performance Driven tools, Built Without Compromise

Deadmoose Forge is the work of Zeke Ziegler, a Minnesota-based maker focused on building functional, performance-driven tools. Zeke began making knives in 2022 and expanded into blacksmithing in 2023, building on a foundation of hands-on trade work.

After graduating high school, he trained as a gunsmith and worked on high-end custom firearms, where precision, fit, and function were expected—every time, without exception. That standard carries directly into his work today.

His process centers on forged and stock removal blades, with a strong emphasis on grinding, geometry, and heat treatment. Every decision is made with performance in mind. These are not decorative pieces—they are built to be used, carried, and trusted under real conditions.

Zeke is a member of the Guild of Metalsmiths and spends the majority of his time in the shop. Whether forging blades, blacksmithing functional items, refining tooling, or restoring vintage equipment, the work is constant. The goal is simple: improve with every piece and maintain a standard that holds up over time.

Deadmoose Forge is not a production shop. This is not volume work, and it is not driven by the need to turn out inventory. Because of that, Zeke is able to stay selective about what he builds and how it is built.

Projects are approached deliberately, without shortcuts, and without compromise to meet timelines or demand. If something doesn’t meet the standard, it doesn’t leave the shop.

This independence allows for a focus on doing the work right—clean grinds, solid heat treatment, durable finishes, and tools that perform as intended. Each piece reflects that approach.
